Culture

We’re a youthful company that likes to have a lot of fun, however we’re also celebrating over 35 years of providing Canadian students with skills that separate them from the crowd upon graduation. Our mission is to be the arena where everyone can learn, grow and dream.  We take that seriously, and invest into all aspects of our students’ growth.

Position Description and Pay

Our sales representatives meet with clients one-on-one. The sales reps’ job is to demonstrate CUTCO® and help potential clients find the perfect set that fits their needs. Most people buy, but some don’t. And, that’s okay.

We have a guaranteed pay for our representatives each time they show CUTCO® to a qualified potential customer whether the customer buys or not. There’s a reason why we pay our reps regardless of sales results; we don’t want a sales rep to ever feel pressure to be pushy.  Millions of satisfied customers rave about our products,

so we let it do the talking. Some might ask, how can we pay our representatives even if they don’t make a sale? Frankly, most people who see CUTCO® do buy something, so we can afford to create this safety net for our reps, and we know it creates a more relaxed experience for everyone involved.  That’s also why we can work with students from all disciplines, regardless if they have prior business or sales experience.  We pay our representatives weekly and the base pay offers a floor to stand on, however our representatives also have the opportunity to earn more based on sales performance.

Since our reps are independent contractors, they enjoy real flexibility and control over their own schedules. They set their appointments with potential customers through personal contacts and referrals, based on their availability week to week. Our representatives pride themselves in providing ridiculously awesome customer service and enjoy representing a truly incredible and useful product. And, it works. Over 15 million homes in North America alone have CUTCO® in their kitchen.

Qualifications

A successful candidate has a positive attitude, enjoys interacting with other people, and is able to handle himself or herself in a professional manner. We take great pride in our training, so prior experience is not necessary, however we look for those who are open to trying something new.

Advancement and Perks

We believe that work should be fun, seriously.  We run energetic, personal and professional growth conferences, we have tons of contests to win trips and technology and we also offer over $23,000 in scholarships to our top performers.  We are expanding across the country, and almost exclusively promote from within, so we have opportunities for those looking for advancement, to move into our Branch Management training program.

Why Vector?

“Vector provides students with a great opportunity to develop skills considered essential in today’s competitive workplace.  For example, students develop self-confidence, presentation skills and a strong work ethic, and perhaps just as important, students learn these skills in a fun, entrepreneurial and supportive environment.”

Dr. Derek Hassay-University of Calgary

“Working with Vector pushed me outside of my comfort zone and helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect. I not only learned valuable workplace skills, but also meaningful lessons that helped me grow as a person. I learned the importance of discipline, time management, and staying committed even when things felt challenging. One of my biggest takeaways is that growth comes from taking action, even when you don’t feel fully ready. I developed stronger communication skills and a deeper understanding of how to connect with others in a genuine way.”      Dana Fonacier, National Scholarship achiever- University of Calgary student
