Overview

Summary: The Youth Worker Summer Intern is a unique opportunity to be mentored as both a leader and an individual. This position assists with the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of our summer youth events, as well as preparing for our Fall and Spring calendar from September 2026 to June 2027. You will grow in leadership skills by learning how to cast vision and strategically implement the vision. That includes, but is not limited to, social media promotion, public speaking, and research and development.

Position Details:
Start Date: May 2026 (or later)
Projected Duration: 8-10 weeks
Schedule: 30-35 hours per week
Compensation: Minimum wage

We hope to provide our intern with the opportunity to tailor the role to his/her desired interests and career goals. Final details and dates to be confirmed with applicant.

Key Areas of Responsibilities
The Youth Worker will perform the following tasks:
• Design, develop, implement, and evaluate summer youth events
• Prepare a calendar of events for the Fall and Spring
• Cast and implement vision
• Create promotional content and manage our youth Instagram account
• Public speaking opportunities available
• Research and develop best practices for reaching students
• Provide leadership to our volunteer teams
• Work with society’s marginalized by building relationships and meeting needs
• Involvement in our church-wide events and services
• Other duties as required

Mount Currie Missions Trip
• Prepare an outdoor campsite for an outreach program for Indigenous youth
• Build relationships with outreach team and local partners
• Run errands to prepare for any service initiatives

Qualifications and/or Skills Required
• Must be ages 15-30 (Canada Summer Jobs Requirement)
• Must be eligible to work in Canada according to BC legislation and regulations
• Must agree with PCC’s Statement of Faith (“What We Believe” as listed on the website)
and additional documents required for those serving
