Position: Support Worker (Student Position)

Supervised by: Client Services Director

Full-Time Temporary: 37.5 hours per week (16 weeks)

Wage: $19.00 per hour

Position Summary:

This position requires a responsible and creative individual who will support the team and operations of Mainsprings Calgary. The person in this position will help manage the day-to-day, have client contact, and help with projects that support our client base.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Client Services:

•       Assist with managing the material goods program as needed

•       Have one on one client contact and assist with client care

•       Various department projects as assigned by the Client Services Director

 

Office Support:

•       Respond to clients and outside agencies’ requests for information

•       Answer the phones and direct calls to the appropriate persons

•       Create a welcoming environment for clients and donors

•       Perform basic office duties

 

Qualifications:

Work in Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, Counseling or related field is considered an asset.

As per the 2026 Canada Summer Jobs Program, applicants must be between the ages of 15- 30 years of age to qualify.

 

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

•       Respect and uphold the Statement of Faith and Policies of Mainsprings

•       Excellent oral and written communication skills

•       Be self-motivated, open-minded, dependable, organized, relational, and responsible

•       Proficient with respect to personal computers and the Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher and Outlook)

 

Working Conditions and Hours:

•      Calgary is a growing Centre. We thrive on creativity, initiative, compassion, and care.

•      The position will function primarily out of the Calgary office. From time to time, travel may be required to one of our satellite centres at Airdrie or Strathmore or locations throughout the city for activities or service delivery. A car is an asset but not mandatory.

•      The hours of operation are currently 9 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday.

•      This full-time, temporary position requires 37.5 hours per week for 16 weeks, with a start date of May 1, 2026.
