Overview
The Youth Pastor will work across two ministry sites — Grace Baptist Church in Calgary and
Camp Chestermere — to build meaningful relationships with junior and senior youth (grades 6–
12) in alignment with the Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Statement of Faith of Hope Mission.
This role is focused on discipleship, outreach, and creating a welcoming space where youth feel
known, supported, and connected to the gospel.

• Adaptable: Comfortable moving between two sites and adjusting to different program
needs and community contexts.
• Team Player: Able to work collaboratively within a broader Prevention team and
alongside church partners.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
• Lead weekly youth group and drop-in programming at both sites
• Develop mentoring and discipleship relationships with junior and senior youth
• Build connections with unchurched youth and their families through intentional
outreach
• Collaborate with the Prevention team to plan and execute summer programs and
seasonal events
• Facilitate engaging activities including games, Bible lessons, discussions, and creative
programming
• Support volunteer coordination and help develop emerging youth leaders
• Promote positive relationships and safe environments through effective behaviour
guidance
• Other related tasks and duties as required
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
• Demonstrated pastoral or ministry experience, particularly with youth
• Experience leading youth programming in a church or faith-based setting
• Strong relational and communication skills
• Ability to engage youth from a variety of backgrounds, including those facing significant
life challenges
• Class 5 Driver’s License (required — role spans two sites)
• Physically able to participate in active programming with youth
• A degree in theology, youth work, child & youth care, or a related field is an asset but
not required — we value experience
Other Requirements:
• Being a Christian organization, we require our employees to be in agreement with and
sign the Hope Mission Statement of Faith
• Must be an active member of a local church
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Able to provide a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child
Intervention Record Check
• Must be able to provide 2–3 references
• Adherence to Hope Mission’s Policies and Procedures
