Summary of Responsibility Areas:
The Church Ministry Internship at Grace Baptist Church is a formative, hands-on opportunity designed to equip and develop emerging leaders for ministry. This internship provides exposure to a variety of ministry areas—including discipleship, youth engagement, children’s ministry, and community outreach—while offering intentional mentorship and spiritual formation.
The intern will gain practical experience, grow in leadership capacity, and deepen their understanding of church ministry within a collaborative team environment.
Learning & Development Focus
Throughout the internship, the intern will:
– Grow in personal discipleship and spiritual leadership
– Develop practical ministry skills across multiple areas of church life
– Gain experience in relational ministry, especially with youth and families
– Develop confidence and ability in public speaking through opportunities such as leading devotionals, sharing testimonies, preaching, and participating in elements of corporate worship (e.g., call to worship)
– Learn how to plan, support, and evaluate church programs and initiatives
– Receive mentorship and feedback from pastoral staff
– Reflect on calling and vocational direction in ministry

– Demonstrates a desire to serve and learn in a ministry context
– Has a heart for discipleship and engaging youth and the broader community
– Possesses strong relational and interpersonal skills
– Is teachable, self-motivated, and open to feedback
– Works well both independently and in team settings
– Seeks to live out the mission and values of Grace Baptist Church
– Is between the ages of 18 and 30
Responsibilities & Tasks
Ministry Engagement (60%)
– Assist in various church ministries, including youth, children’s, discipleship, and community outreach
– Support the planning and implementation of programs, events, and services
– Build relationships with youth and congregants through consistent presence and engagement
– Participate in and help facilitate discipleship opportunities
– When appropriate, take part in leadership opportunities such as sharing devotionals, assisting in teaching, or contributing to corporate worship gatherings
– Contribute to initiatives that engage the surrounding community
– Assist with seasonal programs such as Vacation Bible School
Administrative Support (25%)
– Assist with ministry preparation, organization, and resource management
– Help coordinate logistics for events and weekly programming
– Support communication and record-keeping as needed
Mentorship & Team Development (15%)
– Meet regularly with a pastor or ministry leader for mentorship and reflection
– Participate in staff meetings and team collaboration opportunities
– Engage in leadership development conversations and evaluations
Accountability:
· Reports to the Lead Pastor (or designated ministry supervisor)
Job Status:
o Temporary Full-time: 35 hours per week (8 weeks)
o Compensation: $17/hour
o Ideal Start Date: June 15, 2026
