Summary of Responsibility Areas:
The Children’s Ministry Internship at Grace Baptist Church is a hands-on opportunity designed to equip and develop individuals with a passion for discipling children and engaging families. This role focuses on supporting and strengthening the church’s children’s ministry while providing meaningful leadership development, ministry experience, and spiritual formation.
The intern will serve alongside the Pastor of Children’s Ministry and Community Outreach, gaining practical experience in teaching, relational ministry, and program development within a church context.
Learning & Development Focus
Throughout the internship, the intern will:
– Grow in personal discipleship and spiritual leadership
– Develop skills in leading and discipling children in a church setting
– Gain experience in planning and facilitating children’s ministry programs
– Learn how to engage and partner with families in faith formation
– Develop confidence in public speaking through leading devotionals, Bible lessons, and large/small group times
– Receive mentorship, coaching, and regular feedback from ministry leadership
– Reflect on calling and future involvement in children’s or family ministry

· Is between the ages of 18 and 30
Responsibilities & Tasks
Children’s Ministry Engagement (60%)
– Assist in planning and leading weekly children’s ministry programs
– Support the teaching of Bible lessons and facilitate small group discussions
– Build relationships with children and create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment
– Partner with volunteers and support them during ministry programming
– Help organize and lead seasonal initiatives such as Vacation Bible School and special events
– Contribute creative ideas for engaging children in age-appropriate discipleship
Community & Family Engagement (20%)
– Support outreach initiatives that connect with children and families in the surrounding community
– Assist in creating opportunities for family involvement and connection
– Help welcome and connect new families into the life of the church
Administrative Support (10%)
– Assist with the preparation of materials, classroom setup, and organization
– Help maintain attendance records and ministry supplies
Mentorship & Team Development (10%)
– Meet regularly with the Pastor of Children’s Ministry and Community Outreach for mentorship and reflection
– Participate in staff meetings and team collaboration opportunities
Accountability:
· Reports directly to the Pastor of Children’s Ministry and Community Outreach
Job Status:
o Temporary Full-time: 35 hours per week (8 weeks)
o Compensation: $17/hour
o Ideal Start Date: June 15, 2026
