Overview

The Direct Support Staff – Level 2 serves as a senior member of the Homestead for Hope team, providing advanced resident care, leadership in programming, and direct support to the Programming Director. This role carries primary responsibility for facilitating teaching, supporting resident development at a deeper level, and assisting in the oversight of resident wellness in collaboration with a Nurse Practitioner. In addition, this role provides guidance, mentorship, and day-to-day support to Level 1 Direct Support Staff, helping ensure consistency, confidence, and effectiveness across all shifts. Working closely with both residents and staff, the Level 2 Direct Support Staff ensures the integrity, consistency, and effectiveness of programming while modeling maturity, stability, and Christ-centered leadership.

A GLIMPSE OF YOUR DAY
A typical day in this role blends leadership, teaching, and direct resident support. You begin your shift by connecting with staff, reviewing updates, and ensuring continuity of care. Throughout the day, you will lead or facilitate teaching sessions, guide residents through structured programming, and provide one-on-one support as needed.

You will work closely with the Programming Director to ensure programming is executed effectively, stepping in to provide direction, clarity, and consistency for both residents and staff. You will also serve as a point of support for Level 1 staff—answering questions, offering guidance, and helping them navigate challenging situations with confidence.

At times, you will collaborate with a Nurse Practitioner to monitor and support resident wellness, helping ensure appropriate responses to medical or mental health needs.

No two days are exactly the same. You may respond to complex situations, mentor both residents and staff through difficult moments, and help maintain a calm, structured environment. You are a steady and trusted presence within the home—setting the tone for excellence, accountability, and compassionate care.
