Working under the direction of the Children’s Ministry Pastor and Director of Operations, the student will assist with planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality programs that foster spiritual growth, community connection, and safe environments for children and families. A significant portion of the role involves assisting with the planning and implementation of our summer children’s programs, including a day camp, special-event ministry days, and outreach activities. The student will help design Christ-centred lessons, coordinate activity rotations, prepare supplies, and ensure all children experience a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment. This requires participating in volunteer recruitment, scheduling, on-boarding, and training, including ensuring that Ministry Safe requirements are met for all volunteers.
The student will also help support weekend Children’s Ministry throughout the summer months. Responsibilities include assisting with classroom supervision, helping run check-in systems, preparing curriculum or media resources, setting up equipment, ensuring classrooms are stocked and safe, and communicating effectively with families and volunteers. They will occasionally lead classrooms when needed. Support for church-wide seasonal and outreach events will also form an important part of the position. The student will collaborate with staff teams in preparing materials, assisting with logistics, completing administrative tasks, and offering hands-on help during events such as a Stampede potluck or other community celebrations (such as
Father’s Day and Mother’s Day).
General ministry support will include helping organize ministry spaces, maintaining toy and equipment cleanliness, updating supply inventories, and assisting with digital resources such as email communication, check-in systems, and online lesson uploads. The student will learn to use church databases and scheduling tools, respond to parent inquiries, and help ensure ministry calendars and bookings remain accurate. The student will also be trained in the use of audio reinforcement systems and video display systems (such as ProPresenter). The student will also support the maintenance of our website.
