Bow Valley Christian Church (NW Calgary) continues to grow, and we are looking to hire a full-time Associate Pastor to join our pastoral team.

Role Description
The Associate Pastor serves as the primary leader for our Invest pillar, helping people take their next steps in following Jesus by investing their time, gifts, and resources in His Kingdom. The role also develops and implements clear pathways for involvement and leadership across the church.
Key Responsibilities
• Invest: Develop, communicate, and implement the vision of the Invest pillar, and oversee its leaders, events, and programs
• Involvement: Develop and implement a clear pathway that helps people find meaningful ways to participate in the ministry of BVCC through our Belong, Grow, Invest, and Shine pillars.
• Leadership Development: Develop and implement a clear pathway that identifies, equips, and develops people for leadership in our ministries.
• Administration: Maintain the budget, communications, and systems for these areas
• Other duties: Lead additional ministries and carry out other pastoral duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor or his designate
Candidate Qualities
• A demonstrated love for Jesus and a passion to share His message with all
• A lifestyle marked by regular spiritual disciplines, relational health, and trust in God
• Alignment with the BVCC mission, strategy, and statement of faith
• Demonstrated relational skill with all ages and cultures
• A track record of mobilizing women and men to invest in the church and community
• Skill in developing and implementing systems, and an appreciation for why they matter
• 5+ years of pastoral experience, preferably in a full-time paid ministry role
• A bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, theology, or a related field
Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience and education, full health benefits, and a retirement provision.
Work Schedule
This role requires regular office presence during business hours and weekend work to support Sunday services and other church events.

Bow Valley Christian Church is a non-denominational Christian church located in Calgary’s Varsity community. Founded in 1928, the church exists to “help people find and follow Jesus” through biblical teaching, worship, community groups, and local and global outreach ministries.
The church is rooted in historic Christian beliefs, including the authority of Scripture, salvation through Jesus Christ alone, believer’s baptism by immersion, and the mission of making disciples.
