Join the Ambrose Proctor Team! This is a part-time position, with varying hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to offer flexible hours between 8:30am – 6pm, with occasional evening availability. Priority will be given to current Ambrose students.

Overview: The Exam Proctor supervises accommodated exams, term tests, and quizzes, on behalf of Accessibility Services.
Reports to: Student Academic Success, Accessibility and Student Support Coordinator
Start Date: Fall 2026  (Training September 12)
Hours per Week: Varies (No guaranteed weekly hours)
Compensation: Hourly wage, set by the Ambrose student employee salary grid (starting at $16+/hr)

Position Summary   
Exam Proctors working for Student Academic Success will work with Accessibility Services to provide supervision during accommodated exams/test/quizzes, ensuring student accommodation needs are met and upholding the integrity of the testing process.

Duties and Responsibilities  
The Exam Proctor must provide responsible oversight to students approved for exam accommodations and will fulfill the following duties:

  • attend proctor training in early September
  • maintain confidentiality and security of the exam process and spaces
  • set up and clean up exam rooms
  • administer test materials
  • provide basic support for, and troubleshooting of, assistive technology
  • facilitate student needs during exams

Duties and responsibilities performed within one’s capabilities that do not constitute a major change may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor either orally or in writing.

Job Standards and Requirements  
To be eligible for this position, a candidate will:

  • follow directions, problem solve, work independently, and stay organized
  • be comfortable supervising students (potentially peers)
  • work effectively with a diverse population within a potentially stressful environment
  • always be prepared to put the students’ needs first
  • have excellent attendance and punctuality
  • have completed at least 60 credits of post-secondary study. Applicants who have completed 90 credits of post-secondary study or are in Seminary will receive preference. Community applicants are exempt from credit requirements.
  • accept the responsibilities of community members as stated in Ambrose’s Community Standards (https://ambrose.edu/community-standards).

Other Details: 

  • The role is a part-time, casual contract position from September – April
  • This casual role has no guaranteed hours
  • Available shifts will fluctuate throughout the semester, with the busiest times being during final exam week
