Director of Children & Youth Discipleship
Full-time Position/ Start Date: September 1, 2025

Purpose
The Purpose of the Director position is to help fulfill the vision and mission of the church, serving in the
role of a ministry director to those who attend Powers Creek Community Church. They will participate
in all Main Church events, contributing in the areas of, but not limited to: Overseeing the children’s
ministry and youth ministry, ensuring that they have Biblically faithful discipleship tracks that are
appropriate for the age level. They will partner with the parents of this demographic to ensure a healthy
and holistic approach to discipleship within a family and church setting.

Qualifications
The person filling this position must be a fully devoted follower of Jesus who has at least 2 years of
Biblical training along with evidential experience in ministry (missions, internships, etc). They should
have a spiritual gifting that fits this role and allows them to enjoy this ministry. They must be a Team
Builder who enjoys working with people.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Children & Youth Discipleship
The Director of Children & Youth Discipleship will be responsible for developing strategies and vision
for both Children and Youth that will support and help accomplish the overall vision and mission of the
church. They will recruit volunteers to work with them in leading these groups. This individual should
be gifted for this role and feel called to be a part of the ministry. They will be responsible to call and lead
all team meetings in such a way that all will be built up and that God will be glorified.

Children’s Ministry: The Director is responsible for finding leaders for as many groups as needed,
providing support, ideas, materials, and overall direction for the leaders. They will encourage and assist
the leaders while giving them freedom to be creative and relevant in ministry approaches. The Director
will teach the leaders to understand their role in the overall work of the church and help them use their
giftedness to accomplish the vision and mission of the church through facilitating the teaching of God’s
Word to the younger generation.

Youth Ministry: This role is responsible for connecting and helping youth integrate into our community
at PC Youth. They will help foster healthy, God honoring relationships with the youth of Powers Creek
Community Church and West Kelowna families. This is done with the main goal of helping this
generation become fully devoted followers of Jesus. This position has the freedom to be creative and
relevant in connecting with the youth and their parents to help with discipling this group towards a
stronger relationship with Jesus. They will build up these people in the faith, helping them to understand
who they are and making their faith their own.

The individual will serve on the Church Ministry Staff Team and be responsible for demonstrating how
their area of discipleship is helping to accomplish the overall vision and mission of the church. The
Director will serve alongside the Lead Pastor and other paid staff members. They will be accountable to
the Lead Pastor for all reporting, meetings, and all things ministry-related.
