As a Marketing Intern, you’ll work alongside the marketing team to assist in campaign coordination, content creation, social media engagement, and reporting. Department Overview
The Marketing and Communications department exists to advance the mission of Focus on the Family Canada by strategically planning, coordinating, and executing marketing, communications, and promotional initiatives that engage audiences, support ministry programs, and steward resources responsibly. The department integrates creative, product, events, digital, media, and French ministry efforts to ensure cohesive messaging, effective delivery, and alignment with organizational priorities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Campaign & Content Support
- Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns across email, social media, web, and advertising channels.
- Support the development and scheduling of content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and X).
- Draft copy and coordinate assets for digital and print materials under supervision.
- Help maintain the marketing content calendar and ensure deadlines are met.
- Social Media & Community Engagement
- Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities, audience feedback, and trends.
- Support community management by responding to comments and messages under team guidance.
- Collect and organize analytics for posts and campaigns to help evaluate performance.
- Research & Reporting
- Assist with compiling market research, audience insights, and competitor benchmarking.
- Help gather and organize data for post-campaign reports, identifying trends and opportunities.
- Learn how to interpret basic metrics and contribute to performance discussions.
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with team members across departments to understand how Marketing supports Focus on the Family Canada’s programs.
- Participate in marketing meetings and brainstorming sessions.
- Support general administrative and project coordination tasks as assigned.
About You:
- Currently enrolled (ideally 3rd or 4th year student) in or recently graduated from a Marketing, Communications, or Business program (or related field).
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (student projects, internships, or volunteer work) with marketing concepts such as campaign planning, content strategy, and analytics is an asset; Basic understanding of social media, digital marketing, or content creation.
- Basic design, video editing, or copywriting skills are a plus but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Creative thinker with a collaborative, positive attitude.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative; comfortable learning new tools such as HubSpot, Meta Business Suite, and Google Analytics.

Other Requirements
This position is contingent on Federal Government Grant funding by the Canada Summer Jobs program. Successful candidates must meet the criteria set forth by the grant program below.
To be eligible, youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment (international students are not eligible participants); and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and,
- this role requires an individual who is able to sign and adhere to our Christian Foundations and Standards.
