About the Opportunity
We are looking for a team-oriented Junior Graphic Designer Intern with a clean, modern design approach. This role will provide graphic design support within the Creative Services department to achieve organizational goals. In this role, the Junior Graphic Designer will work closely with the Design Manager and internal departments to deliver high-quality and on-brand designs for both print and digital. This role is a unique opportunity to gain hands on design experience, insight into decision making processes, and the operations of a national nonprofit organization.
The ideal intern is able to work out of our beautiful head office in British Columbia and is an engaging, energetic self-starter who relates well to others.

Department Overview
The Creative Services Department plans, coordinates, and manages the development of promotional, communication, and informational projects from concept through completion, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals. The team collaborates across departments to create high‑quality visuals through graphic design, copywriting, editing, production, and distribution.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Create, develop, and refine static graphic layouts for both print and digital applications while ensuring designs adhere to brand standards.
- Follow art direction and strategy to conceptualize and produce designs that meet the ministry objectives of the organization. Designs can include illustrations, layouts, and visuals for direct mail pieces, product catalogues, magazines, emails, and digital media, etc.
- Prepare and package files to meet pre-press and print requirements.
- Stock image selection and/or take occasional in-studio photos of a range of products and resources.
- Liaise with internal departments and work together to accomplish desired ministry outcomes.
- Participate in daily devotions, team meetings and organization wide meetings.
About You:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or diploma program (ideally 3rd or 4th year student) or a recent post-graduate from a program in graphic design, communication design, new media, marketing design or related fields.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Familiar with marketing and brand management, media publishing (including print and digital), and non-profit fundraising.
- Has a solid understanding of current standards and best practices for both print and digital design, including layout, typography, pre-press and print production processes, file management, and oversight of design quality control, as well as how designs are experienced differently through the physical and digital nature.
- Able to meet concrete deadlines while multi-tasking in an often fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and attentive to detail.

Other Requirements
- This position is contingent on Federal Government Grant funding by the Canada Summer Jobs program. Successful candidates must meet the criteria set forth by the grant program below.
- To be eligible, youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment (international students are not eligible participants); and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and,
- this role requires an individual who is able to sign and adhere to our Christian Foundations and Standards
