About the Opportunity 
This role works closely with the Church and Ministry Representative to help nurture existing relationships, build new connections, support the National Volunteer Program, and contribute to the development of the Pastors Appreciation Gala. The intern will receive mentorship that will help them navigate both the rhythms of a non-profit ministry and the broader landscape of the Canadian Church.

As they walk alongside seasoned leaders, they will develop a discerning awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing churches across the country, strengthen their networking abilities through real-world relationship building with pastors, ministry partners and volunteers.

They will also have an opportunity to sharpen essential practical skills such as time management, multitasking, and administration that can be applied in nonprofit, corporate, or ministry contexts.

The ideal intern is able to work out of our beautiful head office in British Columbia and is an engaging, energetic self-starter who relates well to others. This internship is well‑suited for students and recent graduates seeking hands‑on experience in nonprofit ministry, church engagement, and community‑focused relational work. Tasks and Responsibilities  

  • Enhancing the National Volunteer Program (NVP) to strengthen volunteer recruitment, capacity, impact, communication, and recognition.
  • Carrying out administrative duties for the NVP, including reference checks, creating and maintaining workflows, organizing volunteer cards, and coordinating volunteer schedules.
  • Providing servant leadership to volunteer coordinators through policy development, software training, regular check-ins, and ongoing encouragement.
  • Communicating clearly across departments as new volunteer roles are created and implemented.
  • Researching and initiating new relationships with potential partnerships, denominational partners, peer parachurch organizations, nonprofits, or education institutions.
  • Participating in daily devotions, team meetings, and organization-wide gatherings.
  • Attending meet-and-greets with Christian network agencies and denominational partners. *Local travel may be required*
  • Assisting with event planning. Specifically, working on a Focus on the Family Day event planned for October of 2026. This will be done in collaboration with many departments, and the Church Engagement Intern will be responsible for coordinating the efforts.

About You: 

  • The best fit for this role will be someone working towards or recently completed a post-secondary degree, preferably in the field of Business Administration, Biblical Studies, Ministry and Christian Leadership
  • An excellent communicator who has a passion for developing relationships and connecting with new people.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and be flexible with supporting a variety of simultaneous projects.
  • Naturally curious and be proactive to problem solve
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable with administrative systems and digital tools

Other Requirements  
This position is contingent on Federal Government Grant funding by the Canada Summer Jobs program.  Successful candidates must meet the criteria set forth by the grant program below.

To be eligible, youth must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment (international students are not eligible participants); and,
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and,
  • this role requires an individual who is able to sign and adhere to our Christian Foundations and Standards
