Position Purpose & Responsibilities
This position is an appointed full-time (30 hours plus per week ) accredited worker of the Christian and Missionary
Alliance Church of Canada and therefore has the charge and the responsibility to the entire church in administering
the sacraments, counselling, baptisms, performing weddings and funerals, participating in the worship service,
leading prayer meetings, etc. In addition, the responsibilities include:

All Staff
 Participate in all staff meetings, retreats, training and global events
 Maintain a lifestyle consistent with biblical standards for Christian behaviour
 Attend our weekend worship services
 Evaluate effectiveness of processes and programming in ministry area
 Ensure maintenance of accurate statistical records for ministry area activity

Role Specifics
 Provide pastoral and practical leadership and development to the expression of FAC Music at the Deerfoot
Campus in ways that support the mission and vision of FAC
 Recruit, develop, and deploy DF musicians, maximizing their skills and gifts and setting them up for
successful service on worship teams, all while shepherding them in their journey with Jesus
 Identify, develop and coach worship team leaders
 Build intentional community among the DF campus musicians
 Lead in a forward-thinking approach regarding musical genres and instrumentation
 Provide multi-generational and multicultural musical service opportunities
 Inspire, foster, and maintain an environment of musical creativity
 Lead the congregation in purposeful and engaging singing/musical worship for weekend services
 Work collaboratively and creatively with the Design Team to plan and create service content for weekend
services
 Work collaboratively with musicians, tech and production teams, pastors and other staff to create a
cohesive and impactful weekend worship experience
 Pro-actively support global FAC Music initiatives (i.e. FAC Choir & Orchestra, FAC Music Christmas Concert,
Ash Wednesday Service, Good Friday Service, Fall Retreat, Midwinter Huddle, Fill the Room worship events)

Required Qualifications
 Theological education, ideally in the area of worship studies
 Be a member of the clergy (accredited with the Christian & Missionary Alliance or seek to obtain accreditation)
 Must clearly live out their commitment to Jesus Christ and the local church
 Emotional maturity
 Strong recruiter
 Passionate about music, worship, and the mission of the local church
 Displays humility and seeks what is best for the church
 Excellent musicianship
 Inspirational leadership
 Musical training necessary to support the role
 Must be a team player and love working collaboratively
 Must have a broad appreciation for varied musical styles and instrumentation
 Leads relationally and works well with all people, including in multicultural contexts
Desired Qualifications
 Familiarity with Ableton software
 Familiarity with Planning Centre and Pro Presenter
 Choral/orchestral conducting skills, interest, and experience
 Experience in songwriting/recording
 Multicultural musical background
 Teaching gifting
Breakdown of position (by %):
 Leading teams and leading worship – 50%
 Recruiting and building teams (practical and pastoral) – 35%
 Creative input and execution – 15%
