Market Sales Assistant (Part-Time / Casual)
Local Crochet & Handmade Gift Shop – Calgary
We are a local Calgary-based crochet shop specializing in handmade gifts and seasonal products. We are looking for a reliable and friendly Market Sales Assistant to represent our brand at markets and pop-up events.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, is comfortable working independently, and is looking for flexible, weekend-based work with commission opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
Represent our brand at local markets and events
Look after products and display during the event (no setup required)
Greet customers and answer basic questions about our crocheted products
Process sales using a POS system (training provided)
Keep the booth organized and presentable throughout the event
Handle transactions responsibly and professionally
Work Schedule
Mostly weekends, especially during peak seasons (October to December)
Occasional weekday shifts may be available
Shifts typically range from 4–8 hours
Flexible scheduling based on availability
Compensation
$20 per hour
Attractive commission on sales (details provided during interview)
Opportunity for increased hours during peak seasons
Commute compensation is available if markets are far.
Who We’re Looking For
Friendly, reliable, and customer-focused
Comfortable working independently at markets
Strong communication skills
Basic math skills for handling sales
Sales or customer service experience is an asset (but not required)
Students are welcome — this is a student-friendly, flexible role
Additional Notes
Driver’s Licence is preferred, but not required. (No need to transport goods, but you may need it to commute to different spots.)
No product setup or teardown required
Training will be provided before the first shift
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys handmade goods, local markets, and engaging with customers
