About New Story Community Recovery Society

What is New Story Community? 

New Story Community is a healing and equipping center for Indigenous women. We ran our program for three years on Lheḵ’tínes (Keats Island) in British Columbia. We ran our fourth program at Camp Caroline in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta.

New Story Community exists to promote the flourishing of Indigenous women in a place of safety, beauty, and community. It provides a safe and nurturing space for Indigenous women to begin or continue their healing journey. The New Story women live together and within the support of a strong Christian community. Together they participate in a comprehensive six-month program of healing and recovery, of Bible and academic study, of practical and vocational skills development, and of the setting and accomplishing of personal goals.
